AQUAVOX 401X is a cement-based, two-component waterproofing mortar containing water impermeability additives.

It can also be used as a single-component crystalline.

Features

  • Two-component waterproofing material.
  • Suitable for use in drinking water tanks.
  • Low water absorption.
  • Does not crack.
  • Can also be used as a single-component powder.
  • Protects the reinforcement of the reinforced concrete structure.

Standard Information

  • Complies with TS EN 1504-2 standards.

General Information

  • Pentrates deeply into concrete. Provides water isolation by filling the capillary voids in the concrete and cracks up to 0.5 mm with crystals formed.
  • Can be applied from both positive and negative sides with a brush or spray. Excellent resistance against negative and positive water pressure.
  • Fast and economical due to easy application. There is no need to protect with materials like bricks or thermal insulation boards before filling.
  • Can be applied to damp or uncured concrete surfaces.

Surface Preparation

  • No foreign materials should be added. The surface must be clean, dry, smooth, and saturated with water.
  • The areas to be applied must be repaired at least 24 hours in advance with Repairvox structural repair mortar. If there are holes where water enters, Stopvox Shock plug application should be performed.
  • Dilatation joints on the application surfaces should not be closed; the continuity of insulation at this point should be ensured with dilatation insulation tapes. In wet volume applications, moving points and vertical and horizontal corners should be supported with Vox Corner Insulation tapes. The moistening process should be done 24 hours before application and again 2 hours before, ensuring the surface is fully saturated with water. Care should be taken to avoid water pooling on the surface.
  • Surfaces applied with AQUAVOX 401X should not be exposed to direct sunlight for 3 days.
  • On surfaces that may be exposed to mechanical impacts, a protective layer such as ceramic should be applied over AQUAVOX 401X.
  • The prepared mortar should be rested for 5-6 minutes.
  • After resting, it should be mixed again for 1-2 minutes to become ready.
  • The prepared mortar should be consumed within 2 hours.

Application

  • 22.7 kg of powder should be slowly poured over 10 liters of component B and mixed with a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  • The prepared mortar should be rested for 1-2 minutes for maturation. Care should be taken to prepare the material within the time limit as it hardens in the container within 20 minutes.
  • Mix again before application. The prepared mortar should be applied to the surface with a brush or suitable spraying tools in at least 2 coats.
  • The layers should be homogeneous and smooth, and the application should be done in different directions for each layer.
  • Wait < 6 hours between layers.
  • After application, the surface should be protected from rain and frost for 24-48 hours.
  • Once drying is complete, it should be moistened 3 times a day for 5 days.

Dry Sprinkling Methods

  • DRY SPRINKLING (Negative side): Fresh concrete is poured, and once it has set slightly, it is directly sprinkled on the concrete. The sprinkled concrete is thoroughly mixed using a tray polishing machine.
  • DRY SPRINKLING (Positive side): It is sprinkled on the area where concrete will be poured just before pouring and then concrete is poured over it. After application, the surface should be protected from rain and frost for 24 hours. After the coating hardens, it should continue to be moistened 3 times a day for 3 days.
  • In all non-pressurized structures, especially in wet areas such as bathrooms, sinks, kitchens, terraces, can be used internally and externally against surface water.
  • Can be used as a waterproofing material under ceramics in water tanks.
  • Used in small-scale balconies, terraces, and ornamental pools.
  • Used on concrete plaster and screed surfaces.
  • Basements.
  • Foundations and curtain walls.
  • Swimming pools and water tanks.
  • Sewage and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Tunnels and bridges.
  • Elevator shafts.
  • Wet volumes such as bathrooms, showers, and toilets.
  • Used for negative and positive water isolation of structurally sound concrete surfaces in underground garages and storages, both old and new.
