AQUATECH 538

AQUATECH 538 Liquid Water Impermeability Concrete Additive

Packaging
10 Lt, 30 Lt, 1 Ton
Consumption
140 - 160 gr/m² (Average)

This is a liquid water impermeability concrete additive that reacts with cement and sand in the concrete and mortar mixture, filling voids and pores.

Features and Standards

  • Standard Information: Complies with TS EN 1504-2 Standards.
  • Increases adhesion strength.
  • Provides abrasion resistance.
  • Reduces water permeability.
  • Enhances flexibility.
  • Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Chemically resistant to saline waters and oils.

Surface Preparation

The surfaces to be applied must be clean and sound. Dust, oil, dirt, and materials that prevent adhesion must be removed from the surface, and residues such as mortar and cement must be scraped off the surface.

  • Shake the product before use. It should not be excessively shaken to prevent excessive air ingress.
  • The surface must be cured and sound.
  • A sufficient amount of mixed mortar with the appropriate grain size selected for use in the mixture should be placed with "AQUATECH 538" at a ratio of 1/4 and thoroughly mixed by the mixer.
  • The prepared mortar should be rested for 5-10 minutes for maturation.
  • Before starting the application, the mortar should be mixed again for 1-2 minutes.
  • The tiles applied with force on the combed mortar should be adhered within 20 minutes.
  • To achieve better adhesion, the mortar should be spread with the flat side of the trowel and then combed with the notched side of the trowel suitable for the tile size.
  • Used in engineering structures such as construction foundations, channels, pools, water tanks, dams, metro, highways, tunnels, etc.
  • Can be used in water pools and all wet surfaces.
  • Can be added to increase water impermeability in screeds.

Mix Ratios

  • Usage in plaster mortars: A sufficient amount of cementitious mixture mixed with sand of appropriate grain size, (cement/sand ratio: 1/4-1/5); enough water prepared from the mixture of AQUATECH / Water: 1/4 ratio is added to obtain plaster mortar.
  • Usage in repair mortars: The prepared powder mortar (cement/sand ratio: 1/3-1/4); enough water prepared from the mixture of AQUATECH / Water: 1/3 ratio is added to obtain repair mortar.

Usage in Screeds

  • First, to prepare the mortar to be used as an adhesion-increasing layer, it should be added to the powder mortar (cement/sand ratio: 1/3) until it reaches a paste consistency from the liquid mixture prepared at a ratio of AQUATECH / Water: 1/2.
  • Mortar that has exceeded its usage time or has crusted in the container should be discarded.
  • After application, hands and application tools should be washed with plenty of water.
  • Care should be taken for the curing of the mortar prepared with AQUATECH in applications made under unsuitable environmental conditions such as high temperature, low humidity, and wind. Rapid evaporation can cause shrinkage and consequently surface cracking.
  • Avoid application below +5°C and above +35°C.
  • Pay attention to the remaining AQUATECH amount in the mortar.
  • Do not add AQUATECH 538 to mortars that have exceeded their usage time.
